Eivor E. H. Hernes, MD, PhD, is a senior consultant at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Oslo University Hospital, Norway. She has been a specialist in nuclear medicine since 2018 and in oncology since 2014. Her daily work is based at the Norwegian Radium Hospital. Throughout her career, she has focused on the care of patients with prostate cancer. This began with her thesis, “Advanced Prostate Cancer – Selected Aspects of Human Pathology, Clinical Oncology, and Epidemiology”, and continued with a postdoctoral research period concentrating on the late effects of prostate cancer. She has contributed to numerous research projects, with her major focus moving forward being targeted radionuclide therapy. She is a board member of Syklotronsenteret (NMS), and president of the Norwegian Medical Union organisation for Nuclear Medicine (Norsk Forening for Nukleærmedisin og Molekylær avbildning, NFNM, Legeforeningen).
